Tasteful Disney Decor

It’s true what they say, isn’t it? Disney Adults (and their decor) are tacky. I mean, maybe. Everyone’s entitled to their opinion. I know the stigma behind “childless millennials” visiting Disney World. It’s okay if you think I’m weird. Although I know it isn’t everyone’s taste, I’m here to fight for what I believe in - and what I believe in is tasteful Disney decor. It can happen, I promise. (And even if you’re super into 2003 Disney - that’s okay - I’m not judging you.)

I started collecting miscellaneous Disney items when I was working there in 2016/17. I grew a real love for all things vintage Disney World - especially if it involved my pride and joy, The World Famous Jungle Cruise. My personal favorite Disney feature can be seen when you enter my home. Through the front door and to your left is the gorgeous collage of vintage style framed posters. At first you barely notice it’s Disney - until you take a closer look. Do a search for Disney Vintage Poster Calendars and you’ll thank me later.

A second favorite of mine is my wall of plates and cross stitching. They’re housed above my record player and it brings me a little spark of joy every time I walk by from the living room area of our home into the bedroom. The plates were finds on Etsy or from when I was a cast member and had access to the wonderful land of Cast Connections. The Jungle Cruise-themed cross stitching was acquired through a fellow Skipper and I couldn’t be happier with how they all tie together.

The Disney Divide

It separates our living and sleeping space, and it does so magically.

There are some more subtle details, too. Like my coasters. You can find them on my coffee table within reach any time you sit down. I mean, look at these! Are they not the coolest thing you’ve ever seen?

Vintage Disney Coasters

You can find a lot of fun and classy Disney items at thrift stores, too.

I may or may not have a photo of Cinderella Castle framed above the dresser, and maybe that’s weird. The point I want to make most is that you can decorate how you want to, and this is how I’ve decorated! I have countless more items featured in my home. In the bathroom, on the mantel - you name it. My Skipper button is proudly displayed above my bar cart on a calendar. Enjoy your home and the things in it!
